where is my stage musical adaption of ella enchanted
HOLY FREAKING BANANAS I have never thought about this but this would literally be amazing for the following reasons: 1. Ella enchanted is a beautiful story 2. It is complicated enough to be interesting but simple enough to fit nicely into a 2.5 hour show. 3. A lot of the action is not super visual, focused more on interactions between characters (which is why I think they changed so much for the terrible movie), but it would translate SO WELL into musical numbers!!!!!!! 4. Just imagine a song about all the letters between Char and Ella. Or a song between Lucinda and Mandy to convince Lucinda to try her gifts out for herself. 5. Seriously this could be sooooooooo amazing.
okay okay a SONG entitled “i can’t marry you today because” listing all the funny reasons ella gives char for it, but they are both obviously falling further and further in love and then the reprise can be his letter telling her he really does love her
YES that song could be so funny and sweet and romantic and then saaaad.
Also a montage/villain song for Hattie at finishing school where she is ordering Ella around all the time and Ella is trying to fight back.
Olive has a song about how she wants money and white cake and stories
cooking dinner with the one you love while they wrap their arms around you. taking quick kiss breaks in between folding fresh laundry. washing each other’s hair in the shower. giggling and rolling around in the fresh sheets you both just finished putting on. dusting while showing off your latest dance moves and having your sweetheart show off their vocals.
it’s so comforting to have someone that you just enjoy making a home with. because chores done with someone you love isn’t such a chore after all.
